NEW - Just Added January 2, 2002!

In case you wanted to know, this is what 320 boards look like getting painted on all four sides. Five gallons of primer and five gallons of paint later, they got cut into the proper sizes needed to make bookshelves.

This stack of boards is what waited while the first half was being painted. You can imagine what the whole batch looked like. We haven't been able to park a car in the garage for weeks!
Now that the new part of the store is opened, it was time to utilize the old front desk area for sales space. We cleared out the furniture and started by building three new partitions.
Each partition is 16 feet long. By placing shelves on both sides, we get 32 feet of shelving on each wall, for a total of 96 running feet of shelving.
The partitions are a standard 8 feet tall, allowing us to use our regular 7.5 foot tall shelves. Short folks like us have to use a stool to get at the higher shelves, but it lets us provide a much larger selection in the same space.
Many days of effort assembling blue bookshelves were what resulted in this. It took about a week to cut and assemble the shelves for this phase of the expansion.
All together we've increased our store sales floor area by about 30%. This should keep us busy moving and updating our sections until mid summer 2002.
